on the level...

so the framers have been at it 4.5 days. (they started on a half day.) they've gotten the basement in, with a couple of little exceptions like closets and stuff, and the floor of the first floor. i went over last night to take a look and it looked like they had the first floor laid out to frame today.
getting that first floor level was a task. each of the boards in the pony wall had to be individually cut to length and set level. now that they have the deck for the first floor laid, things should start moving up fairly fast. i figure they'll have the majority of it framed by the middle of next week, and just have a couple of days to come back and finish up closets and little interior walls, anchors, straps, windows, etc... i'll post another few pictures as it grows up!
i took a look around last night and it looks like we'll have a little bit of a view here and there. from the basement guest bedroom, you can see about 75% of mount rainier. i think from the front of the house, we'll see downtown bellevue and possibly a little slice of the stadiums and cruise ship terminals. its interesting to stand there and actually get a visual idea to match up to what was previously only on paper.
