asbestos free

no, it wasn't free. it cost me 1100 bucks but the house is now poison free and i'm able to move ahead (if the rain ever slows down) with the demo. i worked with a local asbestos removal company and they did all the permits and paperwork for me, as well as took care of the abatement and disposal.
it was a little more than i wanted to spend on asbestos removal (i had hoped to not have to do it at all), but still a decent deal.
pictures to follow.

results, good and bad

so we got the results back from the asbestos test. good news and bad news. the good news is, there is no asbestos on the outside of the house that would require costly removal. i guess when its in the roofing materials or the siding, we're talking circus tent over the whole place to get it removed. yikes!
there is a tiny bit in some flooring in the kitchen. that's the bad news. but it shouldn't cost us too much to get it out. more on that later.
so i'm still trying to get this place torn down in january, but we'll see. its great weather to tear down a house... rain. but not so great weather to have a huge hole in the yard. so, if we could just get the rain to stop for a few weeks at the beginning of february, i'd be in good shape. weathermen of the world unite!
